The Nanyang Polytechnic School of Information Technology (NYP SIT) in Singapore is one of the founding schools since 1998 in Nanyang Polytechnic. The current director of the school is Mr John Tan. SIT utilizes an innovation-oriented program to allow students to explore the latest technology and nurtures their creative thinking and enterprising mindset to prepare graduates to seek a rewarding career in an Internet-centric world. ==Centre for IT Innovation== The Centre for IT Innovation (CITI)〔http://www.nyp.edu.sg/sit/working-with-industry〕 in Nanyang Polytechnic, School of Information Technology, was established as a platform to provide an impetus towards several key objectives. These objectives focused on CITI as a launch pad for major industrial collaborations and cutting edge R & D projects. CITI establishes itself as a multi-disciplinary hub that promotes vibrancy and cohesion by enabling students from the various IT diplomas, to work together on industrial and in-house projects. This platform promotes the concept of borderless integration within the entire Polytechnic. It also enables students with different skill-sets to interact and leverage on one another's strengths. CITI also acts as an incubation zone for creative ideas to be generated and conceptualised. In the process of conceptualisation, cutting-edge technologies are being employed. Through this, CITI enables both staff and students to stay abreast of technological advances. As part of its capabilities development, CITI engages in applied R&D in core competencies such as Information Security, Cloud Computing, Social Media and Business Analytics, Business Rule Solutions, Enterprise Technology, Next Generation Network, and Wireless and Mobile Computing such as Windows Phone, iOS and Android.
